Wedding | Betsy & Jed

This blog post is definetly going to date how far behind I am! Here goes...

This wedding makes me smile so big! I have never been a part of a wedding that had such devotion and good spirits surrounding everyone involved!

Betsy & Jed were married on June 7th of this year. As many of you are aware, on June 6th the Midwest received record-breaking amounts of rain and terrible weather. Many homes and buildings in Terre Haute were flooded including venues that were booked for weddings and receptions. Betsy & Jed were only 50% affected. They were able to continue their plans to wed at St. Benedict's Church in Terre Haute, however, their reception site was flooded and needed to be moved to another location. Since they were limited on available venues, this family made the best of their options and had a rockin' party at Sonka's Irish Pub! They kept their spirits high, despite the weather and how it effected the town and truly focused on what was important that day!

Betsy & her ladies met early for hair and make-up at the RAVE salon in downtown Terre Haute! Isn't she gorgeous?!

Everyone spent some time at the church getting ready and finalizing the new plans for the reception... Because of the impromptu changes, Betsy & Jed decided it was necessary to see each other before the ceremony. Everyone enjoyed being able to have a laid back environment for such an important day, even though the situation wasn't quite ideal. We decided to shoot the family and bridal party portraits too and make the most of the time we had to spend together at the church!

Betsy's amazing entrance to the ceremony!

A cute candid moment during the ceremony!

Even the menu changed :-) I caught the pizza man walking in the front door!

There was some credit due to the hard work that was involved in making the best out of interesting and unlikely circumstances! Betsy's dad wanted to recognize Jeanette, owner of Simple to Elegant, for the very professional and seamless event coordinating she provided to them (as well as 5 other weddings that day her staff was providing services to!)

A heart warming speech from the sister of the bride...

Seems to be a wedding tradition... :-)

I can't say how thankful that I am to have met Betsy, Jed and their families....so sweet and genuine in every way! I just love them and am so happy that we haven't lost touch with each other over the past few (or more than a few!) months!
