Death Cab for Cutie | New Single....Awesome!

It's been a long time since I have really listened to a band that's so inspiring ...

Stick with it....I know it's 8+ minutes long, but sooo worth it!

I love Death Cab for Cutie....I was just thinking the other day about how my favorite word is 'ordinary'....for some reason, this is the perfect visual for my thoughts....not just ordinary, but unusually ordinary. I think if you were to ask me, that's how I would explain the path my life has taken....and I wouldn't have it any other way.

I hope you Enjoy it as much as I do :-)

Hang Tight!

Hi Everyone!

My NEW website has just been launched (yay!)....in the meantime, slideshows will be down for about a day while I transfer everything over to the new server! They will be back asap!

Take a look... www.theroxystudio.com

What do you think????

Senior Portraits | Kirstin

Kirstin was such an awesome subject to shoot! She was so laid back and went with all of my nutty ideas! She really had only three request of her own...include her Jeep, boyfriend, and something different! I was up for the challenge!

Here are some of my favorites from our shoot together!

1. JEEP

2. BOYFRIEND (they were in a tree!)

Kirstin...I think we got a little bit of everything and definitely something different! I had a lot of fun with you and I hope I didn't scare your dad and boyfriend too much with my high energy! I love having the opportunity to have fun and create unique images! Thanks again and enjoy the slide show!

Senior Portraits | Karly

I love this time of year! School is back in session (as of yesterday for Vigo County) and it's Senior Portrait time :-)

I have worked with some wonderful Seniors already and can't wait to meet more of you!

Here are some images from Karly's Session, shot last week. We included her horse Pedro in some of them....Karly said that there was no direct association with the movie Napoleon Dynamite (even though she confessed that she had another pet named Napoleon!)....I'm not convinced :-) but it was a no-brainer when it came time to choose a fun song for the show!

We tromped around the grounds of Green Gables located in Brazil Indiana, which is a boarding facility for horses (and Pedro's home). It was beautiful out there and we had such variety of 'backdrops' to capture some really great images! I think these shots really show her fun personality and capture the essence of growing up in the Midwest and what it's like to be an Indiana girl!

Here are a few of my absolute favorites!

Here is here Slide Show Preview....Check it out and let me know what you think!!

Karly, I had a blast working with you! I LOVE the images that we captured together and give Pedro a hug for me! I hope Terre Haute North treats you well this year! Best Wishes for the future :-)

Rave Salon Make-Over Project!

A few months ago I was contacted by the Rave Salon (Aveda) here in Terre Haute to work with them on a Make-Over project for their store! They are going to feature Make-Over images within their shop of styles, colors & cuts performed by their very own stylists! Not the company samples....I love the idea and I'm so happy to be a part of this process :-)

Here is our first "guinea pig", Kathy Anderson!

Rave Artists that contributed to the look::

Ashlee Perkins- Color
Cheryl Smith/Ashlee Perkins- Cut and Style
Deborah Wilson- Make-up

Enjoy :-)

Office Manager Needed...

Yes, that time has come. Too little time to do EVERYTHING I have going on... and I'm finally admitting that I need help! :-)
(admitting the problem is the first step, right??)

I'm not your typical "shoot & burn" photographer, although my life would be a heck of a lot easier if I were :-) To date, I have been working an average of 15 hours PER DAY on maintaining (and attempting to GROW) my business :-) And you thought photographers only worked on the weekends, didn't you?!

Tired eyes from staring at the computer screen for hours at a time! And my poor neglected blog needs to be nurtured :-)

Here is the skinny on the position I need to fill....

Serious Inquiries ONLY!

+ More I'm sure :-)

Please contact me to chat further about the position. I'm looking for someone, who cannot only perform these jobs, but be available LONG-TERM and be relatively flexible (as far as duties and scheduling in office & shooting time). There will be a significant amount of time dedicated to creating a custom workflow for everything to run smoothly and I really want to avoid searching for a new person in only a few months.

Also, Please consider YOUR goals when contacting me....Is this something I would like to do long-term?, does it fit with your lifestyle? Do you have the time & patience to learn about new technologies & workflow? I want this position to be filled by someone who will love what they are doing & enjoy the growing process as much as I do :-)

I'm trying to continue growing while trying to get a piece of my life back :-) Please let me know if you are interested!!!
