Engagement | Sarah & Dustin

This Engagement Session was quite an adventure!

I always encourage my clients to choose a place that is meaningful to them to shoot their session...I love it when the location is special and holds emotional value to them when they view their images...whether its a couple or a family, either way, I feel it makes the images better if they are shot somewhere that they have fond memories of or they just simply enjoy the surroundings...

When I asked Sarah & Dustin where they would like to shoot their E-Session, she said, "We like Baseball & Water"...haha! I love how simple her answer was! It really made my creative juices start to flow and I decided that we would shoot their session on the campus of Rose Hulman in Terre Haute, IN. Rose Hulman has a BEAUTIFUL baseball field located right on HWY 40...I drive by it frequently admiring the beautiful grass and the well kept facility, hoping that someday I would find a couple that would want to take advantage of it! BINGO!

The details of this particular shoot that made it an adventure was the climbing...Oh, the climbing...I had called the facilities manager of the baseball field in advance to be sure that we would have permission to shoot there and to see when there would be an opportunity to do so...Well, when I consulted the online schedule for the baseball team to see when the field would be empty and we were clear to have it all to ourselves, we arrive only to find our that it's locked :( Not only locked, but barricaded! So we did what any normal people would do and we climbed a 12 ft fence to get our shots! I was sore for days! I'm no rock climber, or in good shape for that matter! I don't know about Sarah & Dustin but I think I just had an adrenaline rush that helped push me over the top! (Sorry if anyone from Rose Hulman reads this...we just had to get the shots!)

And some 'under the bleachers' kisses~

The White Chapel, a very popular local wedding venue, sits right on the edge of a gorgeous lake that consumes a large portion of the campus, so there are plenty of angles to get Sarah & Dustin's 'water' pictures!

I just noticed that there are TONS of kissing pictures in this post! haha...I promise took other shots too~ you can see for yourself here on their slideshow :)

Brooches, Flowers and Feathers! I love this style of the Bold and Classic Bridal Veils...the antique look that these items capture while still providing the bride with a modern twist to a traditional veil is such a wonderful addition to the detail of the wedding day~

Lifestyle | Manson Family (Fall)

I enjoy them so much! This is my second shoot with this family and it just keeps getting better every time...

Our first chance to shoot together was at Christmas time, and actually was a shoot to capture some Christmas shots of Madeleine. THIS time we were able to add in more family! It was such a blast romping around Deming Park (which is quite the 'hot spot' for family photography sessions here in Terre Haute~) that evening!

Julie & Tom have become very good friends of mine over the past few months...They are so sweet and I'm excited for my baby Lincoln to meet their cute daughter Madeleine some day soon! (Tom calls her 'sprout' and it is the cutest thing you have ever heard!!)

We had Grandparents...

And some of the coolest cousins you'll ever meet! The girls even went out and had their nails done for the shoot...and let me tell you, they looked FABULOUS!

Madeleine even found a rock...It turned out to be a pretty good day~

Senior Portraits | Samanthia

Samanthia (yes with an "i"!) was an AWESOME Senior to shoot! This actually was a late shoot according to what most Seniors choose to do...She is graduating in a few short weeks, but we had to wait until her braces were gone to shoot her pictures!

Incredible SMILE~

Samanthia is graduating from North Vigo High School VERY soon...so we chose to shoot in and around downtown Terre Haute...We found all kinds of fun backdrops for her pictures! We even ended up on Indiana State University's campus for some wonderful shots!

Thank you so much Samanthia! Your smile is FANTASTIC and I think your set came out wonderful! It will be hard for you to choose the ones you want to give out?!

Senior Portraits | Josey

I had the chance to do a one-on-one shoot with Josey about a week ago for her Senior Pictures! She is a soon-to-be graduate of West Vigo High School and a true country girl, so I went out to where she lives to capture her in her element~ Josey is one of the Holscher Sisters and I will be shooting her older sister Megan's wedding in October of this year! I just LOVE the relationship that has developed between the Holscher family and me....I feel like I'm already part of the bunch :)

We chose to shoot out on their farm, which went perfect with the awesome boots she chose to wear for the shoot!

Josey's boyfriend, Easton, also attended the photoshoot! We were able to get a few with him as well before he had to take off! (Although he wasn't too hip on getting his photo taken, he was a good sport for Josey!) They are super cute together too~

This last one is one of my favorites from the session! She has the best smile AND eyes...GORGEOUS!!

Josey, thank you so much for asking me to take your Senior Pictures! I had a blast exploring the countryside with you~ I can't wait to hear what you think :)
